Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Recognizes ASCRS Foundation; Federal Employees May Donate Through Payroll Deduction; CFC # 39783
Federal employees, including military personnel, may donate to the ASCRS Foundation through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) program, the largest donor payroll deducation plan in the U.S.

FAIRFAX, VA, May 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Federal employees, including military, and employees of federal contractors may donate to the ASCRS Foundation through payroll deductions, beginning next year, it was announced today.

"The ASCRS Foundation is pleased to be eligible for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign charity list," said ASCRS chairman Richard Lindstrom, MD. "Our humanitarian work in Africa and China, combined with our ongoing research programs and public education work, makes the ASCRS Foundation a worthy consideration for anyone interested in supporting eye care and ophthalmology." The Combined Federal Campaign is the largest employee payroll donor deduction campaign in the U.S.

The CFC is the only payroll donor deduction plan available to federal employees. About 2.8 million* federal employees, including military personnel, may participate. The ASCRS Foundation has passed a rigorous review process to qualify as a National/International charity—the only designation that allows all federal employees, whether working at home or abroad, to donate.

Every year, during "Open Season," federal employees are given the option to sign up for automatic payroll donation deductions. Open season generally starts on September 1 (the beginning of the federal government's fiscal year) and ends no later than December 15 (Some departments and the military may have only 45 days of Open Season).
