JES Collects Worn, Tattered American Flags in Honor of Flag Day
JES is conducting their second annual collection of American flags in honor of Flag Day on June 14th. Worn and tattered American flags can be dropped off at any of the three JES offices in Virginia from May 3 - June 14, 2010.

Collected flags will be properly retired during Special Ceremonies
WHAT: JES, a leading waterproofing and foundation repair company, is accepting at their three offices in Virginia worn and tattered flags for proper retirement in honor of Flag Day on June 14th. Collected flags will be properly retired during special ceremonies performed by VFW Post 3160, American Legion Post 327, Boy Scout Troops #481, # 2815, # 670 and Cub Scout Pack #482.
WHY: Per the website www.usflag.org, according to Chapter 10, Section 176 of the United States Code: "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be disposed in a dignified way, preferably burning." On the same Website, under "Flag Etiquette Standards of Respect," it is written, "When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be disposed by burning in a dignified manner."
WHEN: American flags will be collected from May 3, 2010 through Flag Day, June 14, 2010
