MicroTech Ranked Third in Regional Fastest Growing Companies Survey
Washington Business Journal List Dominated by Companies Supporting Government; MicroTech Holds 60 Prime Federal Contracts, Manages over Half-a-Million IT Users Daily
VIENNA, VA, October 05, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fifty Washington DC, based companies — collectively generating over $14 billion in revenue — were named to the Washington Business Journal "Fastest Growing Companies 2009" list, with MicroTech ranking third overall - up five spaces from the 2008 survey. The annual list is calculated by three-year revenue growth and recognizes companies based in Northern Virginia, the District, and Montgomery and Prince George's Counties in Maryland. MicroTech averaged annual sales growth of over 201% to make the Top Five.
Owned and operated by American City Business Journals, the nation's largest publisher of metropolitan business newspapers, the Washington Business Journal (Washington.bizjournals.com) has been Greater Washington's leading source of business news and information for more than 20 years, providing business executives with comprehensive news on local people and their companies.
MicroTech (www.MicroTech.net) is a global provider of Information Technology solutions specializing in the Design, Implementation, Operation, and Administration of government and corporate computing environments. MicroTech uses Customer Relationship and Project Management tools to enhance productivity and features a Virtual Infrastructure that allows for business mobility and faster customer service.
"This is our second consecutive year listed among the Washington DC, region's Fastest Growing Companies, and our appreciation of the award is twice as good," said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO. "We are very proud to be near the top of a notable list of overachieving businesses. Even facing an uncertain economic climate, this prestigious award reinforces the efforts and value-added service that the MicroTech team offers everyday to our clients and partners. And we fully anticipate appearing again on next year's list."
In recognizing MicroTech as the No. 3 ranked business, the Washington Business Journal focused on MicroTech's strong commitment to industry-leading technical training and experience: "...What is it about this 5-year-old information technology company that wins it so much praise? The fact that it employs tech engineers who are officially certified by Microsoft Corp., Symantec Corp. and Adobe Systems Inc. probably helps."
The Fastest Growing Companies award is just the latest in MicroTech's 2009 string of high-profile industry acknowledgement of their rapid growth: the Virginia Chamber of Commerce "Fantastic 50" as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the state; Washington Technology's Top 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business in the government marketplace; CRN Fast Growth 100 ranking the nation's fastest-growing Technology Solution Providers; and as the Number 1 Fastest-Growing Hispanic-Owned Business by Hispanic Business; along with a second consecutive year on the prestigious Inc. 500, moving up 109 spots from 2008.
