MicroTech Hosts Returning War Vets, Sponsors Mixed Martial Arts Champions in UFC 99: The Comeback
Information Technology Provider MicroTech sponsors UFC winning fighters Cain Velasquez and Mike Swick at recent event in Germany
VIENNA, VA, June 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- MicroTech, an award-winning small business and strong supporter of professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), sponsored Cain Velasquez and Mike Swick at the Ultimate Fighting Championship event UFC 99, held June 13 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. Heavyweight Cain Velasquez scored a unanimous decision win versus Cheick Kongo, and Mike Swick won by a technical knockout (TKO) against Ben Saunders, with MicroTech President and CEO Tony Jimenez making a special guest appearance in Velasquez's corner. MicroTech hosted 25 U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army personnel at the event, all recently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cain Velasquez is a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter from San Jose, CA, and currently stands undefeated. FOX Sports said about Cain, "He has been called the most impressive heavyweight prospect and others go further labeling him as the future of MMA heavyweights." Mike Swick who carries the nickname "Quick," also resides in the same city. Swick competes in the UFC as a welterweight.
MicroTech also sponsored the recently released video game - THQ's "UFC Undisputed 2009," with MicroTech logos proudly displayed on animated versions of Cain Velasquez, Josh Koscheck and Forrest Griffin - all UFC fighters that MicroTech has sponsored in the past.
