Homes.com Posts Record Website Traffic, Surpasses Zillow for Second Month
Growth continues to outpace competing real estate websites
/Virginia News Articles/ - NORFOLK, VA, September 23, 2007 - Homes.com (www.homes.com), a division of Dominion Enterprises, announced today its highest website traffic results in the company's history. Based on comScore Media Metrix's monthly analysis, Homes.com experienced significant growth in both website visits and unique visitors, showing an increase of nearly 13% in unique visitors between June 2007 and August 2007.
Homes.com achieved its highest comScore ranking in 3 years; reaching number 11 for the real estate industry total internet audience. With this continued rise, Homes.com surpassed Zillow for the second month and jumped ahead of Realtytrac. Another exciting milestone for the company's long-term growth was a 40% increase in year-over-year unique visitors.
Homes.com attributes its growing success to a number of business initiatives, including redesigning the website and carving out a niche for itself in customer service. "It has always been our goal to facilitate relationships between home buyers and REALTORS," said Jason Doyle, Homes.com general manager. "We have dedicated our time and resources to creating partnerships that serve home buyers' needs, while offering limitless opportunities for our real estate
agent clients."
Stevan Cirkovic, Homes.com director of product development explains, "Our steady and continuing increase in traffic indicates that the Homes.com redesign in April 2007 was a turning point. We are utilizing the same methodology to improve our site that we recommend to our clients. The optimization of content to be more search engine friendly and the addition of homebuyer tools are paying off. ."
Based on the August comScore report, the Internet audience for the real estate industry has declined 3.7% in 2007. Despite this decrease, Homes.com has grown 2.8% Homegain.com, normally an industry leader, has lost 20% of its audience in the past month.
